How do I compare my files?
Choose the original and updated .xlsx or .csv files. When both are loaded, confirm the sheet pairs and the columns that identify rows. Select Compare files, review the summary and any flags, then export the report. You can start with Try an example without selecting personal files.
Which column should I use as the key?
Choose a stable value that identifies one record, such as SKU or customer ID. If a value repeats, combine columns in the same order on both sides: for an order with several lines, use Order, Line. See the row-key guide for an example.
Why are records marked for review?
A blank identifying value cannot be matched confidently. A duplicate key can refer to several rows. Those cases are listed separately instead of being guessed. Review flags are not a count of every affected cell, and unresolved records are excluded from normal matching. Correct the source data or choose a more specific key and compare again.
Why are there more changes than modified rows?
The summary counts modified rows. The detail report lists modified cells: one row with a new price and a new stock quantity contributes one modified row and two cell changes. Added and removed records are listed as whole rows. Read the report guide before interpreting totals.
What if I renamed a sheet or column?
Renamed sheets can be paired manually. Data columns are matched by header name, not by their position. A renamed column is treated as a different column, so its values can appear as removals and additions at the cell level. To compare it as the same field, align the header names in copies of the original files first.
Why do numbers, text or formulas look different?
The number 1 and the text “1” are different cell types during value comparison. Key matching uses text representations, so numeric 1 and text “1” can identify the same record, while “001” remains a distinct identifier. Key matching is not affected by the space or case settings. Formula text is compared only when the formula option is enabled, and no Excel recalculation takes place.
What if a file does not load?
Check the extension, the 20 MB limit, the two-million-cell limit and that the workbook is not encrypted. Give each header a unique name. Very wide sheets or large formatted ranges can exceed the cell limit even when few cells contain data. Try a smaller copy. If a replacement fails validation, the last successfully loaded file stays selected.
Are the files uploaded, and how do I clear them?
Spreadsheet processing stays in this browser tab. Use Clear files, reload, or close the tab to discard the tool’s in-memory workbooks. Downloaded reports are not deleted by that action. Hosting and authentication still involve normal website traffic; see Privacy & cookies.
What is included in downloads?
Excel export contains Summary, Changes and Review needed sheets. CSV exports the changes, and the printable HTML report includes all three sections. CSV text that could be interpreted as a formula is prefixed with an apostrophe, so the literal exported text can differ. The on-page detail view is paginated; downloaded reports include all records.
Report a problem or ask a question
For this early release, contact Cristian through the conversation or invitation where you received the link. A public support mailbox is not yet available. This page does not send messages or receive file attachments.
Include your browser and device, the file format, approximate file size, the action you tried and the exact error message. Explain what you expected and what happened instead. For a privacy or rights question, describe the request without posting spreadsheet contents.
Do not send confidential workbooks, passwords, customer records or payment information. If an example is needed, make a small fictional file that reproduces the problem. A list of invented IDs and values is often enough to investigate.
