Terms of use

The scope, limits and responsibilities of using SheetClarity.

Updated October 15, 2026 · SheetClarity

The service

SheetClarity is a free browser-based preview operated by Cristian Caldera. It compares structured data in two versions of an Excel or CSV file and lets you download a report. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the tool.

Your files and permissions

You retain your rights in your files and reports. You are responsible for having permission to process the data you select and for following any confidentiality or data protection obligations that apply to it. Do not use the service to infringe someone else’s rights, distribute malicious material or interfere with the site.

The tool does not claim ownership of spreadsheet contents. Selecting a file does not grant us permission to publish it or use it for advertising. The privacy notice describes how local processing works.

Supported inputs and limits

The current release accepts .xlsx and .csv files up to 20 MB each and up to two million cells per file. Actual performance depends on your device and workbook structure. Files need a header row, distinct column names and suitable identifying columns. Commas in header names cannot currently be used as part of the comma-separated key-column input.

Encrypted workbooks, macro execution, PDF documents, scanned documents and comparison of formatting or charts are outside this release’s scope. Macros are not run. Formula comparison uses stored formula text when enabled; formulas are not recalculated, so cached results may be out of date.

Review results before relying on them

A report is an aid to review, not a guarantee of accuracy or a certification of your records. Incorrect identifiers, changed headers, ambiguous dates, spreadsheet type conversions or incomplete source data can affect results. Duplicate and missing keys are flagged rather than silently paired. You should resolve those flags before treating a comparison as complete.

Keep backups and independently verify changes used for payments, accounting, stock control, contractual decisions or other important work. The original files are not edited by the application; downloaded reports are separate files.

Availability and responsibility

This preview is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every workbook, or recovery of data from a closed browser tab. The operator may change or discontinue the preview. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator does not accept liability for losses caused by reliance on unverified reports or by interruptions. These terms do not exclude rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Downloads, cost and advertising

Reports are created only when you request an export. You are responsible for storing and sharing them securely. The current preview has no payment flow, paid subscription or active advertising. Future commercial features would need their own clear terms and privacy updates.

Software and third-party names

The application includes SheetJS Community Edition under its included license. Third-party names identify file formats or products and do not imply endorsement. Links to other websites do not make their operators responsible for this tool, or this operator responsible for their content.

Questions and updates

See Help & support for troubleshooting and the current preview contact route. Changes to these terms will be published with an updated date. Nothing here promises approval by an advertising network or any earnings from the website.
